Leadership Team

The management team for Florida Autism Center of Excellence has proven expertise in children's education and healthcare.

Marc Lavett, MS, BCPC, LMHC Assistant V.P. of Operations

Marc Lavett is a Board Certified Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the State of Florida. He has earned a B.A. degree in Social Science from the University of South Florida, a Master of Science in Mental Health Counseling from Nova Southeastern University and will complete his PhD degree in adolescent counseling in spring of 2008. Marc has taught students from third grade through post-secondary school. His 15 years of teaching experience combine with 6 years of child/adolescent clinical mental health counseling to bring seasoned education/healthcare leadership to the FACE program./p>

Stephanie Martin, Senior Vice President of Program Operations

Stephanie Martin is the resident expert on autism at Educational Services of America (ESA). With more than 15 years of professional experience teaching and working in special education, Stephanie has the responsibility of developing and managing FACE programs. She is skilled in Applied Behavior Analysis, positive behavior intervention, developmental delays and curriculum development and implementation. Under her leadership, ESA has established FACE and the successful Spectrum Center programs, which are serving the needs of the growing number of students with autism in this country.

D. Preston Steele, Director

D. Preston Steele holds a B.S. degree in Business Management from the University of Phoenix, an M.A. in Education from the University of South Florida, and is working toward his Ed.D. in Educational Leadership through Argosy University. Preston has over 6 years experience in program administration, training and development, and grant management. Preston comes to FACE from a proprietary school, where he worked as the Associate Academic Dean, and prior to that, as the Program Director for a local university's regional training and literacy center.

Shannon Moss, Program Director

Shannon McKallip Moss is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) and holds a professional teaching certificate in the state of Florida. She has earned a B.S. degree in Special Education and an M.A. degree in Applied Behavior Analysis from the University of South Florida. Shannon has provided consultation and education to students with autism and similar disorders both in the public school setting and privately for over 10 years.
